Not sure if this is the right forum or not...but here goes.

I am planning 2 do 2 40 breeders in a L shape setting...they will sit corner to corner forming a square where I planned on using 2 overflow boxes.

but I had a thought....could I drill a hole in each corner were they meet and connect them via bulkheads and pvc and get away with using only 1 overflow box say a 300gph cpr cs50...I want it to drain directly in a 24g fuge then the fuge drains into a 20h sump then returned.

will this work?

I would think that would be an opportunity for a good sized leak. While you're drilling holes to connect the two tanks you could drill each one for an overflow to a common sump. If you use a large enough return pump with ball valves it will feed each tank on the return side. I have three tanks set up in a horseshoe arrangement all draining to a common sump.
