Disco ball? I run photons and raduons, and they have some shimmer but no disco ball effect.
Can you elaborate?

You can see in the pic the color separation from the reef breeders on the sand. LED fixtured with diodes like that produce discoball.

The problem with radions is you need to many to get the par you need/want. I would not run them either but do because I had them from a previous build. I need and run 3 over a 30×24×16 to get the par I need. One Photon is alot less than 3 xr15's.
I bought all mine used and would not pay the price they want for the new radions.
I would run the Meridians if I did not already have 3 photons.
To the OP, take a serious look at the Meridians.

If it was like that in person I wouldn’t run them It’s a bad pic

What happens is my front glass racks are blocking certain diodes from overlapping and the leds that line up with the gaps are shining though.

The light actually has a very even wash, it’s just I have a issue with the very front glass due to a number of racks


These racks…all have a gap between them but look af the sand in the entire tank then look under the racks on the second pic

Otherwise it’s blended fine

Very difficult for me to capture in person as I’m limited by reflections, and lids, but there is. I disco ball with this light aside from a few pesky racks in the front

I have one light fixture that was 700$ new, illuminating a full 75g reef by itself. I don’t have dead spots, or hot spots, or disco ball, and highest channels are only 40% of the units capability.

I am considering selling my photon and getting a Meridian. But even though the 35 is supposed to be equal output and coverage to a photon 48, I can’t use it due to a center bar right under the middle led cluster. I need the 45” meridian

I have no disco effect on my 2 photon 50's with 3 or4 uv/v bars. I have never seen it and it's not on my rs170 running a 24" photon. Check my build thread for many pics.

The Radions put out plenty of PAR to grow anything you want. The low PAR is total hogwash.

If anyone wants to knock Radions then knock Mobius. That’s an actual issue.

Reefbreeders lights are fine. Just make sure you can mount them really high. They are just rebranded Chinese lights with American support. I’d rather have the new Nicrew Gen 2 lights personally.

It’s true but I feel it’s from people the buy the wrong version. Like buying a blue and attempting to get a pro spectrum

Plenty of threads on this with people disappointed about low par or needing an xr15 every 12-18”.

Best of both worlds lol. I don’t think the Meridian is the same situation. I don’t see anything it’s cloning and is a complete redesign. They have moved from a budget price to a “upper mid” tier price and looks very promising. I know places / people that have tried it and are really impressed. Reputable places. Battle corals. Detroit Reef Club. And a few users on here

Good choice also. I read complaints it’s noisy but I guess that can be subjective to each person

I run 3 on my 30×24×16 50g.
I ran 4 on my 48×24×16 80g.
