Hello,
I've been in the freshwater fish hobby for 20 years with successful planted tanks.
I started my first reef tank 3 months ago after my 3 girls have begged me for the passed 2 years, and would like to populate it with some coral and fish. I currently have a 1 frag Duncan and 1 frag Zoa ...
So I started out this hobby after having a freshwater for a long time.
For some reason, one of my shrimps died today, at least that's what I assume, he's somewhere hiding (I can see him) and he isn't moving. He hasn't come out for a day. The other one doesn't seem to be too keen about eating...
Hi,
I'm trying to buy a camera for my father for Christmas to watch his fishtank. When new fish are acclimated they don't survive very long and they think that the other fish in the tank are killing the new fish. I wanted to get him a camera to watch his fish for when he is away. I also think it...
I have an AIO mixed reef with fish by Waterbox. 50.3g.
I turned the filter off last night at about 8:00 p.m. to feed and dose phyto.
...woke up this morning to a cloudy tank... Only then to realize that the filter had been left off all night! 12+ hours.
Somehow temperature is still reading 78...
This is my one and a half year old biota yellow tang. He has always had this abnormal deformation with his lateral line where it disconnects. Also his pelvic fins have withered away. He has always been heavily fed and has never been sick. Any thoughts?
Hi!! I’ve had my damsel since June 2022 and overnight it has adapted a digging behavior in its preferred corner of the tank. Curious if anyone has any insight to this behavior and if it is a nesting behavior or trait related to males or females! here is a video of my damsel!
Furthermore, my...
I’m planning to add new fish now. As far as fish I have a 29 gallon tank. For fish I want it to prevent nudis, worms, and other pest. I have fish as rn (a fire fish). Fish I want is a Melanurus wrasse and a six line and a yellow Coris wrasse. And last a scoffer blenny. As far as these, these all...
To all of you reefers who have mandarin dragonettes I have a few questions for you. I want to start off with my tank and it is an 8 month old 90 gallon tank with a good amount of livestock now.

Neon goby
Yellow watchman goby
Pistol shrimp
Sand sifting star
2 conch

Every fish I add the last 3 weeks mysteriously dies. There’s no signs of parasite or disease on the fish at the time of death. So I had an orange shoulder tang and all of a sudden he has a deep slash on him and he was found breathing heavy in the corner, sadly died hours later. I had him for 2...
I been having issues with flat worms and nudis. I am wondering if there are any fish that will eat these. I have a 29 gallon to keep that in mind. Flat worms don’t bother me much. But the nudis are. But if there is something I can for both. Thank you.

Hey guys… I took my chances on 3 Bangaii Cardinals for my 310 gallon which will be a mixed reef, only about 12 corals and a nem in the tank right now. They were being sold fully quarantined as a trio. They arrived small/juveniles back in late September. Been in the tank now since then. But just...

I have a cube 25 peninsula waterbox
I was wondering how much I can stock the tank with. I have a protein skimmer. I was just going to fil it with soft corals like hammers and torches.
I was thinking:
2 clowns
Longnose hawkfish
Royal gramma
A sand sifting goby
Fire fish
And a goby to pair...
Recently had swung by my lfs and noticed that slightly larger sized Wrasses and Tangs are priced higher than their smaller counterparts.
I left really thinking about it since I’ve never really thought about fish size when making a purchase unless I am stocking a smaller tank etc.
So my fellow...
I started my reef tank back in April and it has been nothing short of a nightmare from the get go. I added a pair of clowns to the tank a few days after the startup bacteria to help with the cycling process. I elected not to QT the fish since there was nothing else in there to contaminate at the...
I have a 250 gallon saltwater tank set up with about 10 fish (large to small). This tank used to be an aggressive tank turned to a reef tank. All of these fish have been in the tank for more than 6 months. Nitrates are higher than they should be but has not been an issue before. Now when I add...

Hi there,
I know that in general using propylene glycol as carbon source for bacteria in reef aquarium is safe and works great in reducing PO4. I dose it roughly 1ml / 100l in high nutrients system.
I wanted to create my own DIY supplement for both fish and corals (so I would add it to the...
