I have been out of the hobby for several years, trying to jump back in. Lighting has changed and a lot of brands floating around.

I’m starting a 40 Breeder that will strictly be softies and LPS (heavier on softies).

With current sales looking at the following:

ATI Sunpower 36” 4 or 6 bulb fixture.
2 x AI Prime 16 HD’s
32”Reef Breeders Photon V2

Any opinions or recommendations? Looking for growth and overall health more than pop. Seems the ATI blue plus is the color spectrum that everyone compared these LED fixtures too. Also want something that’s quiet and doesn’t have lots of fan noise.

I like the sunpower 6 bulb.
I have a giesemann 6 bulb and it will grow anything.
3b+ & 3c+ is what I ran.
Now it sits in the closet but will be doing a 40/40 Soon.
I may run OR3 light bars instead of the T5 unit.
You could run 1 blue sky and 1 reef day in your system. Each OR3 bar is equal to 2 T5's.
Light bars have no fans and are top of the line leds, imo, and im a halide guy.

I really love my Maxpect Razor X 150. I bought it to go over my 40B, and when I upgraded I was still able to use those lights on my new tank. The color mix, programming, and spectrum are all fantastic, IMO. I've been very happy with them. :)

They're on sale on SaltwaterAquarium.com!

I see a lot of people running the 24” reefbreeders on 40 breeders so you might not need the 32”

I run two AL Primes in a 36" AquaticLife T5 fixture. It puts out a ton of light but It'll be going over a larger tank in the near future.

Im running two current loops. Mostly because the setup came with one and I wanted to see if two would grow anything.

You may be onto something here. Just watched some videos on these and really like the color output and sleek form factor.

I'm using 3 of the current R24s over mine. I'm using their suggested settings and I like it. I started with 2 but I was planning on going SPS in the future.

This is for softies/lps so you can use pretty much all of the above, it isnt hard to get lighting for lps anymore and can be achieved for relatively cheap. My choice for this would be 2x Orphek OR3 bars , or 2 smatfarms led or 2x noopsyche. This can cost around 220- 300 depending on which you go with.

currently using 1 hydra 32hd with the reefbrite attachment. if i could do it over again, would probably go for 2 ai primes and 2 OR3 led bars
