Hello, I currently have a 55 gallon aquarium with around 70lbs of live rock. I do water 5g water changes every week, the tank only has a hob filter l am upgrading at Christmas. Anyway I currently have
-2 ocellaris clowns
-1 fire fish
-1 coral beauty
With also a small assortment of corals and hermits

I am definitely going to get a yellow wrasse soon

So my questions

1. I would also for a 6th fish like a fish like a ruby dragonet but I know I can't keep this so any suggestions I don't want it to be to big also.

2.Would this overall work without hight ammonia/nitrates now or should I wait until I get skimmer maybe sump

Thanks

Skimmer and sump are always best. That said canary wrasse (yellow "coris" wrasse) are very hardy. Red dragonette need similar care to that of mandarins. If you don't have a stable pod population and a very aged tank I would pass on it.

A sump can be a great breeding ground for pods and allow you to add one later.

For a fish "similar" to a ruby red dragonet but is easier, look to a pygmy rooster waspfish. It is mellow, deliberate moving, and hardy.
