It looks like a threaded adjustable flow adapter. What does the flow nozzle look like? It should push onto that to allow you to aim it in a few directions without moving the supply pipe.My order from sam came here early! Im on track to set up this tank tomorrow! He threw in some freebies for me, he gave me the filter floss holder, three sand bed frag stands and something else, not sure what it is, anyone know?

I thought it had something to do with the nozzle as well but it seems like the nozzle just fits into the stock apparatus. I looked at @exnisstech's thread and I seemed like his nozzle was installed the same way mine is right now. Maybe he'll know though.It looks like a threaded adjustable flow adapter. The whole nozzle is one peice and seems to fit in there with the original apparatus, it pretty much looks just like the original nozzle but with a rfg head. I think I'll just shoot sam an email.![]()
To me the extra piece looks like an adapter for a threaded to lock line type of adapter. In the above pic are the red outlined and blue out lined pieces 1 piece or 2? Another question is, is the extra piece the same thread as the green outlined?
I may not have been clear in my thoughts last night. I was tired. Even if they are not the same size to me it looks like an adapter for lock line which these nozzles attach to usually. This one is specifically made for that tank though.

These pics are of a vca 1" Random flow gen nozzle and pipe adapter. The adapter is male threaded in 1" unlike yours which is female unknown diameter. The opposite end of the pipe adapter is 1" lock line and so is the nozzle. So in my use of this I could use it as is threading into a female 1" pipe or I could put any length of lock line in between if I needed to get it farther out into the tank. Thats my thought process as to what your mystery adapter is. If you remove the green outlined fitting and it threads on there and the red come off the blue it may be to decrease the distance the nozzle is extended into your tank. Its hard to tell from pics the actual size of stuff though. It may also be an adapter which was included to be able to use that nozzle in other situations or just a random freebie but my guess is he included it for a reason. Might have to hit them up and ask. I am invested now I broke out paint and everything! Now I gotta know!
You could have used some and saved some.Also the sand bed is very deep since the smallest I could find was a 10lbs bag.

I managed to cut the wiers with a pair of cutting pliers.You could have used some and saved some.
When i cut the weir I used an old knife and heated it with a torch then cut/melt through the top and bottom if the parts I wanted to remove. Like you I had filled mine so I didn't want to saw or use a Dremel that would add shavings to the water.
I did have to go back and cover the weir with nylon mesh because my peppermints can get through and catching them in the back requires highly specialized equipment.

The furthest right with the return pump. It could go in the one next to it too since they will stay at the same water level.Another question, which chamber would a future ato sensor go in?

You run your pump on the wave mode right? Thats the only way I could get the tank quiet, it was super loud if I ran it on constant.

Ya but not everyone has a 3d printerI printed a couple for some of the members on here but haven't done my own yet. It's a pretty simple design. You just have to knock out/cut out a couple of weirs on the tank.
