Aiptasia or feather duster?

Hello. I recently saw this in my tank. No new additions coral wise for at least 2 months. Only new fish about a month ago.

I have feather dusters on a rock across the tank. It’s in a difficult place to reach and can’t get anything near them to see if they retract

Sorry bud...this is a glass anemone better known as Aiptasia. I would get rid of the rock if you can or find something that will eat them otherwise you could have a problem on your hand. I found one on a coral frag in my tank.... I threw out the frag. Sounds extreme...but these things have a way of spreading despite your best efforts.

Mix up a slurry of kalk or hydrogen peroxide and inject into the core. No more Aiptasia.

Aptasia and time to eliminate- Using a syringe, inject either lemon juice or preferablt Kalkwasser powder mixed into a paste into center core of aptasia and watch it melt

Filefish are best for an ongoing aiptasia problem. For one or two here and there I have good luck with Aiptasia X or kalk paste.

Depends on the fish, most i have seen or been around have not harmed coral and are awesome docile fish. I have heard some nip coral but it's like any other fish you deal with the personality of the individual.

What about Joe’s juice? I saw some good reviews on that too.

I’d be willing to get a file fish. I look extensively at my tank everyday like I assume everyone else does lol but this is the first I’ve seen of them. If it’s only these 3 small ones that I see I would be afraid of the filefish eventually going after my corals

Mine wiped out my aiptasia all right, then started on my rock flower nems. But he hasn't touched anything else.

Looks like an aiptasia to me, we had those in our last tank and we purchased a filefish...ate every one of the aiptasia's. Now the filefish is my wife's favorite fish.

I have a torch coral, blastomussa, Xenia, and some sps. As far as I can tell right now it’s just those 2 aptasia growing. But I’ve come to decide to either do Joe’s juice and immediately cover it with epoxy. Or get the filefish because I have room for one more fish and they look awesome. But very nervous about it biting my corals.

Hi All Hope everyone doing .got a frag of zoa from my LFS.while checking the zoa I think I found an aiptasia.if it's an aiptasia how to get rid of it . 1 how to get rid of this .I think this is the only 1 2 is there any coral dip i could use to kill . Thank you
