Hi all, I'm 36 and live in central Washington. I have lots of critters around the house, including my two kids :D! I have a plate 55g with an Oscar, two red ear slider turtles in a 40G, 75g vivarium with a dozen fire bell toads, and a bunch of guppies, a 29g with 2x mature leopard geckos, a rose tarantula, 2 guinea pigs, 3 dogs, 2 cats. In the process of setting up a 40g saltwater tank, and a 300g trout aquaponics fish tank.

As my title suggests this is not my first attempt at a saltwater tank. 7-8 years ago I had a 14g biocube that I had up and running for 10 months. It was doing awesome and everything was growing out of control. I ordered additional lights and modified the hood to add enough light for sps. Then my son (2 years old at the time) had been watching daddy feed the fish. And got into the cabinet below the fresh water tank. And found the full container of freshwater food. And then proceeded to dump the entire thing into my tank :( When I got home from work almost everything in the tank had liquefied. almost everything was dead. The only thing to survive was the clown fish.

So here I am and he is now 10 years old. And it is time to do this again! The wife and I have been saying for years that we would set another one up. Petco was having a half off sale on tanks, and the time felt right. So the last two weeks I have read what has felt like every how to so I could refresh myself. Everything is ordered, and the last of it shows up Tuesday :) then the real fun begins!
