It is curious that nobody from Hydros has posted a response as I know they monitor these posts based on their responses to others about Coralvue and Hydros.

Not to mention, reps for coralvue have been tagged in multiple posts here and elsewhere and still remain silent. It's concerning to say the least. Kinda makes you wonder. I know they are a small business but this kind of stuff is why small businesses struggle.

transparancy and accountability are key for small businesses. if they cant do that people will hesitate even more when a surprise release happens.

One could argue that it is a shame hobbyist have unrealistic expectations by demanding updates beyond what has been given. Honestly, why all the fuss?

It is delayed. Only Coralvue knows the details. The rest of us, pure speculation and noise.

I will say this though - it sure is giving them free advertisement and keeping the product in hobbyist minds. Rent free - have to love it.

I see it the other way around. Until facts show a different outcome arc, it is my view that they manipulated the market by announcing vaporware and have found themselves unable to deliver. While the banter and speculation may be "free advertising" by some perspective, the entire situation is damning from another.

This, among other interactions has steered me away from doing business with them.

I don't wish them failure, and in fact wish them success, but it will not be with my dollars.

I think a lot of people, possibly including myself are over it.

At some point the hype of the MAVEN and everything it supposed to be able to do wears off. Especially when it starts to look like it's never actually going to hit the market

This is how I feel, the excitement was there and I’m about to pull the trigger on another trident. I held off hoping some sort of “new year” update. We’re in Feb and still not a peep. I was ready to switch everything over to Hydros but now that the excitement is gone there’s no point.

I have to find the video and share it here but there was a video where a reefer from outside the US was using a Hydros maven for their 200 gallon system, and one of their issues being lack of access to replacement testing solutions.

I think they already have a foundation to work on and in secrecy are letting certain people test it out. With bug fixes, costs, and material shipping concerns, I'm sure they had the full intention of releasing it but ended up talking too quickly to try and keep momentum on their side when it came to be a competitor in today's market.

I can't say it's not a disappointment as they were advertising/hyping up the controller "ALOT" but I rather wait for when it is full ready for usage. I will also say that they are putting themselves in a tight situation when the expectations will be higher than ever before since there really isn't an excuse anymore.

Best scenario I can think of is when it comes out it'll be ready like the hydros blenny was, and I will be able to throw down the $1,200 since I've been saving up for it this whole time lol

Ha and yea just very much waiting for a good auto tester alternative to Apex… just had way too many issues with them over the years. Want to switch to new platform and tech bundle.

Maven has not done any presale.

i think saltwateraquarium might have had preorders up for a very small period but i dont remember. been too long since they announced it. they still have it listed but not ability to preorder now

that is what i remember as well. hopefully if they raise the price those that preordered wont have to pay more since they have been waiting so long

I asked flat out in a livestream if the demo unit was working. I was told yes, but I haven't ever seen the demo unit preform a test. I'm not saying they are lying, but...

Regardless, I am not in any hurry to spend 1k on an auto tester lol. Let them bring it to market when it is ready... or not. I bought my Hydros stuff before the Maven was announced because I think it is a superior product/UI compared to the Apex.
