ATI Straton LED Light - Comments, Review, PAR, Coverage, Discuss...

Where can we buy the mount shown at RAP?? If those are available I will swith to the 2x Straton G2 204's replacing 4 XR30 G5's and 2 AI Blade Grows.

So after two months I noticed something…
IMG_1747.jpeg

Notice how it’s brighter on the left? Both settings are the exact same. This is the first time I have had two lights over an aquarium. Is this normal?

Then I realized the lights are not oriented the same. Notice how the cords both meet in the middle? I set it up this way so the cords would be less obvious but the leds are not uniform. See how in the front left light on the far left it’s blue on the right light on the far left it’s white? Is this my issue? Should I take one of them off and turn it around?

@Reef-Engineer you seem like you really know your way around these lights. Does what I’m saying make sense? Is this an issue at all? It looks like your lights might be oriented the same (cords both meeting in the middle).

They said it would be available in 90 days or so

Are they properly setup as a group and both groups are running the same intensity and spectrum? The GUI is a little wonky and not straight forward. I’d double check that because you can control each 1/3 sections in addition to individual units if they’re not grouped properly.

They should be. I’m able to control both together. That specific setting there is shallow reef set to 80% intensity. However, I did set them up pretty quickly. I think I’ll do a factory reset tomorrow and see what happens.

You can also test first by going into live mode and changing the spectrums to see both change and both set to 100% to see if you’re still seeing an imbalance. If you are, then they’re not grouped properly.

ATI had me send them a log of my lights. Germany is going to review it, but they did say the lights are meant to be mounted with the cord going behind the tank instead of the way I have it. I feel like I have good coverage now, I’m not going to buy another light to mount it the other way.

I did a factory reset and didn’t mess with anything and it’s still all the same. One light just has a much bluer hue, and they’re both Gen 2.

This is how they’re grouped:

Hmm, that’s definitely not normal. You should create a ticket with ATI and have them replace the dinner module.

Definitely keeping these on my radar for the new build. It will be closer to Black Friday before I can buy so hopefully we see plenty of ways to mount them before then.

ATI had some kind of connector that attached to t slot at RAP.

Has anyone seen those for sale yet?
We need to have one of the 3d print vendors create us a Strata Pro G2 mount for the RMS track rail. Seems like it would be quicker than anything else and could be color matched as well.

Did they update the firmware on the new release? Is there a moon phase mode now? Looking to possibly put these over a 72”x 36” footprint. Full sps. 2 204’s or 3? Also how is the shimmer? I seen the older models had a diffuser. Do the new ones?

No moon mode yet, I don’t know if they have plans for it. I think two 204’s would work for you. Not sure about the depth. My tank is the same length and 30 in deep and I have enough coverage.

It does not have a diffuser and you don’t need one. You can legitimately look into these lights and you don’t even have to squint. It’s amazing and part of the reason I was initially drawn to them.

The shimmer is pretty muted compared to other lights, but it’s there.

I just want to close the loop on this. There was something wrong with the left light and ATI replaced it. Their customer service was AMAZING!

Finally got the Stratons in! Was a pain to get connected to wifi but finally got it. What’s the go to settings for a mixed reef?

I ended up jumping ship and went with some AI blades instead. Probably a good move for a FOWLR setup (and a few soft corals)
