Brown jelly

One of my torch have had brown jelly and it was to late i was not at home my girl freind have throw it to the garbage without putting jelly everywhere 1.5 week later i have been able to put my hand on cipro am in canada all my coral are looking great some hammer head are not open as some other on my colony but they have been like that since 8-9 month should i treat my tank with cipro if yes should i follow the instruction ?

Cipro is an alternative and at times not a solution. Its best left to humans (see below). Some causes can be bacterial, insufficient flow, low calcium, elevated phsphates and even inadequate light. Assure also salinity is in range

I've seen attempts at explaining "BJD" as a disease, but so far I'm not swayed that it's anything other than so-called RTN that we "routinely" see in SPS corals...just happing on a larger (LPS) scale.

Anecdotally, all the (few) cases I've taken the time to dig into – ones that had enough detail – were textbook low-PO4 cases where the coral was just dying from the damage (ie RTN). Most "BJD" cases don't have enough detail to form any real conclusions one way or another.
