Hey All,

I have a really great pink leather coral in my tank. It has 3 heads. Two of the heads look great and healthy, reaching up to the light and extending the polyps. The other head looks to be having issues. It has a brown line down it and is drooped (see picture). This line is growing by the day. Any idea what is going on with it? All other softies in the tank are looking very healthy.

It appears to be splitting. Also, it is reaching for light which indicates it needs more. Are you able to move it higher in your tank? Softies love light, most are collected in shallow waters getting blasted by the sun.

Splitting is a good thing right? The rock its on is getting around 96 Par. The light is up and to the right so I am surprised it is reaching to the side. Could some of the reaching to the side be due to the splitting? I have seen my other leather get super sad whenever he has a growth spurt.

Here is a picture of the tank. Note, I am still deep in the uglies and fighting algae. I could possibly move it on the arch with is much higher Par, though I really like the position its in. I agree that a better light area would help it. I will look into it.
