Can a leveling pad fix this

Get a proper leveling mat, like an Innovative Marine Leveling mat. They are for evening out little imperfections only, NOT gaps.

Befor you do that, replace that top with 3/4" plywood!

you might be able to add a level piece of plywood right on top of the imperfect one then fill all the crevices with plastic wood filler. then re-paint the edge. will take a long time to thoroughly dry. best is replacing the top completely. in the end its your tank and your floors.

adjustable legs isn't gonna fix that.. your top piece of wood is warped... if you don't want to replace it (highly recommended) then your only option is to try and sand it down with a belt sander... I will guarantee if you don't get the top level, in time your next post is gonna be about your tank leaking...

Put another piece of plywood on top of your existing one, and make it bigger than the Aquarium Dimensions. It’s nice to have a place to set something down. Also keeps drips from running down your Aquarium Stand.

As others have said, the foam will only cover small imperfections in what's beneath it, It will not equalize the weight distribution.

I am not using the adjustable legs to level the top... I plan on replacing the top with a new board that will be flat. And using the legs to level the actual cabinet, since it's rocking back and forth.

That's not a bad idea but I want to go with the flush cabinet to aquarium look. I think the stand looks better when it's perfectly flush to the aquarium.

this is exactly what I had to do on my stand build. something shifted after being assembled and the top was no longer flat and could not be removed.

Once you’ve got your stand issue resolved, use 1/8” neoprene from The Foam Factory. 1/4” is really too thick for your tank. I’m using 1/8” for a 75 gal and the person whose post I got this from (thank you, whoever posted that!) used 1/8” for a much larger tank than that.
