Hi! Im new to saltwater keeping!
I saw my clownfish rubbing its side on the sand and thought it was just playing, upon more research I realized it could be ich. Im not really sure... im new to saltwater keeping so every literally thing i find off, i google them. I could just be paranoid but i’ll really what to make sure.

If this is ich what do you suggest i do? I have a 10 gallon with 2 clownfish, a cleaner shrimp and live rock and live sand. I dont have a quarantine tank and i would like to not dose my tank with copper if at all possible because i have a cleaner shrimp. Any suggestions?

Also any idea what these little red spots are near its head? After researching i still cant find anything on this.

Hmm that looks like ich to me. There is a lot of threads about ich on this forum fortunately. From what I gather you will need to put him in QT tank and either medicate to TTM and leave your main tank empty with no fish for more than 70 days.

not sure on the ich, does look like it though. The red dots indicate a possible bacterial infection. You would need to move both these guys to QT for treatment and leave the display without fish (shrimp can stay in DT) for 76 days. You are correct about not treating the display tank, not the best idea.

welcome to reef2reef!! Sorry it’s under these circumstances though.
