Try looking for them on Amazon. They usually have some good deals on them. I saw a 32 gig for around $75 and I like the fastest transfer rates I can get.

The few people i know that shoot for money all say get pro grade cards. I got a class lexar pro class 10 8GB for my D3100and it has been great. For the speed make sure you get what your camera needs or faster. I do pull my pictures off shortly after shooting so max size isn't a major concern.

I use a 4 gid, have for 3 years and I have never ever run out of space. I just make sure that I transfer onto my computer after a photo session.

so the faster the card the faster the burn rate the faster you can take your action pics without problems.

Usually if you go to the manufacturers website they will give you the speeds. Different brands have different speeds.

Also keep in mind.. If you buy two 16gig cards and happen to drop one in the water, you only loose half of your pictures. Unless your using it for HD video, get two or more smaller cards.

the flashcard has nothing to do with how fast you take a picture, thats upto the camera, but it does tell you how fast you can take the next picture because its about the write/transfer speed
