Hey all,

Got a great deal on a 300 deep dimension and the wife approved the upgrade from our 94 gal cube. I will be looking for advice on sump design and plumbing so thanks in advance for the help. Below is a equipment list.

Reeflo hammerhead circulation pump
Little giant external pump to run skimmer
Etss xr700 skimmer
75 gallon sump
2 mp40's
1 mp10 - thinking on the back wall

I'm considering a uv sterilizer so anyone with experience with those could you guide me in the right direction.

Also sump design and baffle location. Sump is drilled on each end for pumps.

Tank is currently - slowly filling with water so finishing the plumbing underneath will be done today/tomorrow.

Pics will be up later today.

Welcome to the 300dd club! You are going to love the dimensions on this tank. Good luck with the build and looking forward to seeing your progress!

Good luck with the new setup. :D Im looking forward to pictures. :) The dimensions you will be working with are fun. My tank is close to the 300DD, but mine is a little shallower. With a tank being that large I didnt want to dunk my etire body in to move a coral, lol.

Hahah, sooo true. In order to reach the bottom, I have to stand on the counter top on tip toes and the water is up over my shoulder, LOL!

Couple other things

Light at the moment will be 3 - 250w metal halides and 4 - 96 watt pc it's a corallife 72" fixture. I had ai's on my other tank and the color was not that good.

Bulbs are still undecided either ushio 20k or phoenix 14k. Thoughts? The pc will be a actinic combo.

Yea they are de.

Had my first flood :)

Left Saturday for most of the day. Ro hose fell out of the tank so ~30 gallons on the carpet!

Been trying to clean it up and make the wife not hate me.

Pics soon!

Well things are grinding ro a halt with the build. The water saturated the pad and now we are pulling up the carpet and installing tile now.!

She likes the idea of the tile so I guess this is a good thing right?

So back to where iwas before. Now with new tile and paint.

Starting the 3day water fill tomorrow.

Wish I could post pics from my iPhone.
