Purchased 3 Zoas and one Candycane. This is my first live sale purchase and it was interesting. All in all excited for the new additions. Will update and add pics when I receive them.

03/23/18: New Corals, Refugium Basket and Shrimp

Received my zoa frag shipment from @Tidal Gardens today. I am impressed by their shipping method, being my first online purchase.
Drip acclimated the frags for 2 hrs and then coral Rx dip. The Blue Steel & Fire and Ice zoas opened up in an hour after placing them in the tank. Eagle Eye Zoa and Candy cane are still to respond. I will monitor them closely. But all should be good. Got a macro lens and I will be uploading pics soon.

2nd shipment was from inTank: Added refugium basket and filter pads. These are my new additions.

On a co-incidence, I lost my Red Shrimp this AM. Such a bummer. He cleans my Tang so well. 6 months and lost him overnight.
Just scratching why and what may have happened.

I love that pink goniopora, they look so good. Was looking at getting one but was told my ALK needed to be as stable as possible and I'm not dosing as of now. What are you doing to keep it healthy other than feeding?

Thank you @Jon Gracey

I dose 15ml of BRS 2part using APEX DOS. dKH stays between 10.5-10.0 from start to end of the day

Feeding : I use Reefroids to feed all my LPS once a week and I dose KZ Amino once a week.

One more thing that I have noticed, it used to be on the sand bed but would not open up as much. Once I moved it on to the rock, it opened up even more. Flow wise indirect medium flow.

Hey thanks for that info, once I start dosing and get my alk and ca stable I can go for one. Other than that your tank is looking really good. What algae have ran into thus far?

Was looking at the DOS but man that thing is spendy. I think I may go with the Coral Box wifi doser (if I ever find it in stock).

Thank you. No major algae issues so far. FINGERS CROSSED. I am seeing some bubble algae in the the Clove polyps and I plan to remove the frag from my tank and then get rid of it. In the beginning, sometimes my sand had brown patches, but after adding diamond goby, i never had that issue again. Recently some algae patches on a new rock just below the Goniopora that i removed using a brush.

Btw for doser, look for Jebao also. I am looking for one to automate Trace & LPS Amino dosing.

That's great you haven't had to deal with algae. My JBJ has been running for close to 6 months now, getting ready to do the same as you and post a build thread.

Did someone say impulse buy..

I was in Chicago dropping off a buddy of mine at O’Hare. I always visit Beyond the Reef, Schaumburg when I go to Chicago. So dropped by to see if they have orange forgspawn. Lost mine last week. Well I ended up buying something else...

SUN CORAL.... it’s opening now. Slowly. I had to change the AquaScape as well to create a shaded spot for it.... Fed some reef roids for today. Here are some pics

My SUN CORAL is opening now. Pretty much all the polyps. Just loving the colors. I will update with a FTS this weekend. 7 month update and I should keep my hands off the tank from now on. I don’t want to add Frags and let the reef take its shape.

Here is the SUN coral yesterday.

4/14/18 : 7 month update with FTS and some macro pics of various corals

Did some Changes to the scape. Made a hammer garden and added some Zoas from Tidal’s garden, Sun Coral and War Coral from my trip to Chicago in this last month. Some Zoas are thriving and one is still to adapt to this new system. Due to new rock sections I have some diatoms, but they are slowly receding away.

For live stock I Added 2 Fire Shrimp last week and I had to give away my Melanurus Wrasse. Aggression in a small tank. My live stock is at 7 fish, 2 shrimp, 2 hermits has 3 Nassarius snails.

Here are some pics. FULL TANK SHOT, TOP DOWN SHOT & Macros!!!
