I’m new here! I’ve had freshwater tanks before (over 10 years ago though). I’ve been doing a ton of research over the last couple of months. I’ve got a 30g tank (I know bigger is better - but don’t want to overdue it initially if I end up hating it!) just starting it up this week, lucky to have a few LFS to help navigate. The biggest challenge I’m having is reading and watching so many different methods for cycling (fish in, fishless etc) I’ve watched lots of BRS as well. What’s everyone’s favourite method to start out? Ready to go nice and slow!

Started a new tank as well. First timer. Dry rock and Caribbean special grade sand. Used red sea reef mature kit. But dosed heavier on the bacteria and less on the nopox. Continued with microbacter7 after the kit ran out. Cycle completed on about day 16. Added two clowns and a few CUC around day 25. So far so good. Slight algae and diatom outbreak happening now around week 10. Waiting a bit more to start introducing some corals. My Nitrates are still a bit unstable.
