Got a bunch of stuff done around the house. Got the slide outs installed, the shelves made for the lower cabinets and face framed, and the top and bottom shelves for the new 60 stand. Got the mess from the tank swap prep and the rearranging cleaned up. Room looks awesome again.
Now the bad news, Tim had to work OT so we didn't do the transmission swap. The guy that is trading tanks couldn't make yesterday so we have to do the trade today and finally, the replacement tubing for the maxi dose is STILL not here.
I got the UV mounted but am missing one piece of plumbing to finish it. It's out for delivery today.
The algae that is left, besides the glass, is not algae but dinos. The nitrate and phosphate went too low and triggered it. The UV will clear it up and I completely stopped GFO and am only going to do AWC and cut back the bigger water change to once a month if that. I will see as things progress. I will be honest here, I have NEVER had an issue with too low of NO3 and PO4. New territory.
I have had suspicions my lights have been losing power and without a par meter I couldn't prove it until yesterday when Sherry was trimming the planted tank she asked if I turned down the cube.
Oh well, I have a noopsyche k7 pro II that has about 5 months use on it but will have to borrow a remote because I don't have one and I have a Pro III on it's way (clearance deal for $100 and free shipping). I don't think the II is enough on it's own so I will use the Pro III and keep the II as a backup. If none of these are the ticket, I have access to a nearly new ap700 for a good price from a buddy. Any way you slice it, the lights I have now need to be replaced and will have to acclimate the corals again since the current lights have been dimming.
So all-in-all a mixed bag weekend.
I did finish and have picked up 16 trophies for a short film festival in HSV. Much larger order than last year. They must like my work!
