Water change today.

DSC_0018.JPG

Light intensity turned way down to let the montipora recover. Will increase over the next few weeks when they are back to full health.

Good call, Don

Yep, all the digitata have already bounced back. Regained their color and polyp extension. Now for the Caps to do their thing!

I'm going to order a potassium test kit this coming weekend. I haven't tested for that in a long time. Need to know where I'm at.

Everything looks happy! I have read anecdotal accounts that Montipora benefit from (or are sensitive to levels of) Potassium. Are you suspecting that as well?

It's possible. Could be low, don't know. If so, I'll be dosing K.

As I'm planning the next six months on my tank reset, I contemplating adding a calcium reactor. Ive been seeing some unbelievable growth and colors coming from tanks using them.

I'm open to anyones imput on what calcium reactor they would recommend for my size system. Also what media is best. The reset is to be SPS dominant.

Don,
I can hook you up.

Go with an GEO 2 stage.
Run the large Reborn Media in Stage-1 with 10% of ZeoMag / Run the small Arm media in stage-2

Get an great regulator and control the reactors melting point with Apex Fusion.

Also: Don't drip the output / do an tiny continuous stream.

Start right here:

I edited the last post.

If you already struggle with low ph it might not be the right call.

Okay, but there's ways around that. At least in theory. Lol. I've heard dripping soda ash may help. Fresh air line outside......etc.
