Update, after some evaluation of my system over the past week, I've decided to do a tank reset. This won't happen till the beginning of next year due to funds right now, but will happen.

Everything in the tank is growing very well as of now. Being this is a mixed tank will likely be a mixed tank going forward, but will focus on acropora species.

I'm in the process of making a list of what I want to get, this also includes equipment.

Stay tuned.

[emoji15] what prompted this decision? Nothing bad I hope.

As with anything In the hobby, change is a good thing. Nothing bad at all. Just want to mix it up a little. All good.

Update: I did my water testing just now and everything is well within acceptable range except my nitrates.

N03 at 30+!

Getting out of my comfort zone for sure. Time to break out the vodka! Starting out with .6ml for three days and four days up to 1.2ml.

Water changes just not cutting it at this point. Shooting for 5-10ppm, that's the target.

Everything in the tank still looks really good, even at almost 40ppm.

Well I just had a major event! Was working in the fish room and stopped to take Milo out to go potty. I had my garden hose turned on with the adjustable nozzle hanging on the utility sink. While outside with him the hose slid off the sink and landed in the trigger, spraying up on everything.

The sump, all my electrical and the floor above! Not knowing all this.....I come in and the DT is back syphoning!

I run down stairs to spraying water on everything!

GCFI did it's job and shut off everything. I immediately turned off the hose and pulled all the electrical wires from their outlets. Started drying everything and mopping the floor. Grabbed all the fans in the house and ran extension cords to get them running. Pulled all the outlet covers off to let them dry.

So far everything is drying out and I reset the gcfi's and I have power now. Main return pump is running and I have heaters running. Tested the SG in the system and it's still at 35. Thank God!

I set up my reactor with GAC and it's running now. 25 gallons of saltwater ready in the mixing station.

Everything in the DT looks good. Getting ready to do that water change.
I'm so glad I was home when this happened! Today I'm adding a hook to place the hose nozzle into so this cant happen again!
