Flippers reef 125 gallon

Update:

Been busy with work and family. Wife decided to refinish the kitchen table. Sanding, staining and multiple top coats of polyurethane. Been helping her.

Tank has cleared somewhat but is still a little cloudy. UV bulb was guaranteed delivery Friday, tracking shows it's late and still in route. Hopefully today it will show up.

The melanurus has been up during the day while I've been at work and gets back in the sand by the time I get home from work. Stepdaughter confirmed. She has been feeding it. Second round of GC going in today.

Little yellow has been a very happy wrasse since release to the DT. Very aggressive eater when feeding. Fun watching it eat with the other fish!

Hope the bulb arrives for ya today. Nuce that your yellow is thriving and melanurus is eating in qt for you. Look forward to some pics :)

Still in transit. Glad I'm not waiting on some fish to be delivered! I'd be freaking out now!

Still in transit! Kinda need it!

It's pretty cloudy again!

Well out of the blue my stepdaughter has said she wants a reef tank! So we talked a little this afternoon and I've decided to let her use my old 56 collum as a loner to see if she will keep up with one. Helps having a experienced reefing step dad that is all over that! Lol :D

And she gets free saltwater from me as well! (And corals down the road!)

And free quarantine of the fish she wants (Plus meds if needed!)

Family gets all the perks! Lol

The legacy lives on ;)

Don are you running any GAC? When I ran out of it my tank got cloudy after a few days.

I am running GAC. Have been for three days now.

Great news, proves how successful you are as a reefer.

Also proves how addictive this is. ;Hilarious

I was hoping one of the clan would give it try. Not all of them are financially set yet, so they have some interest but know they cant. I get it. Responsibilities come first and this day and age, it's very tough out there.

No finer tribute for a dad. You must have been beaming!

Hope that the bulb comes in soon and huge congrats to you and the family for inspiring the new generation. Woe is you.... gotta hit the fish store more often! And get more equipment! OH WOE!!!

Somebody has to do it! Lol

Update: bulb still in transit believe it or not. USPS sent it to a distribution center in Chicago and it's left there to God knows where! I would highly advise not to use USPS to ship anything anywhere!

Good news is the tank has cleared up on its own, go figure! Still need the bulb encase it comes back though or if I need it down the road.

The melanurus wrasse has stayed in the sand bed for a couple days. I evicted him today from it and poured the sand out on to the tank floor. Fed him and he ate well. Looks fine, just stress keeping him hidden and I need him to eat.

Saturday is release day to the DT.

Did you at least give the Wrasse notice prior to eviction? Seems like some pretty shady landlord practices..... :p

Na, he doesn't know it yet, but he's heading to the penthouse upstairs in the DT. LOL!
