I'm going to finish the frag tank build next weekend. Didn't get anything else done.

10 gallon water change done on the DT and everything is happy!

I plan on continuing to work on the "56 frag tank" this coming weekend. It needs the feed line made from the manifold to the tank. All the drain pipes where cut and fitted last weekend, just need primer and glue. Tank itself needs to be cleaned and leveled.

Then I need to make 60 gallons of saltwater to fill it.

Once it's up and running for awhile, I'll move the frag light and hang it. Then the corals and frag rack will be moved into it.

The current frag area in the sump will become a macro algae refugium. Ulva species most likely.

And we are salty!

I after adding RO/DI to fill it, in went the salt! After five hours of mixing, I opened up the valve from the manifold and got it running. It's on a slow flow right now as to slowly mix the new saltwater with the system water. Hopefully tomorrow I can move the light over it and move the frags on the frag rack to their new home!

I'm officially at 240 gallons total system now.

Update:

Frag tank has frags in it now and flowing into the system without any issues.

I ordered some Ulva lactuca (sea lettuce) from algae barn for the refugium area. We'll see how that grows.

Update: today is a day to make some choices. One thing I do need to do is take out my wave pumps in the display tank and clean them.

The other is to take one of the toadstool leathers out in frag it. To do this I'm going to have to build a larger frag rack.

The other thing that needs to be done is to set up partitions with egg crate for the Ulva macroalgae that is coming from algaebarn next week in the refugium area of the sump.

So after a cup of coffee, I've got to get to work!

Man, it's going to a LFS for credit or selling it to local hobbyist.
I need to set up a frag system some day. I don't have room in my tank for frags and I hate just tossing it into a bucket to recycle into my CaRx.

Good luck with your to-do list today! Is the vipar bulb layout similar to the modifications you made in your mars lights? Just wondering if you noticed any of your frags upset about the change in light. They all look good from the pics!

The Viparsectra is close to the mods I did with the Mars.

Got a lot of room to make a better frag rack!

Update:

Nope to fragging the Toadstool. Just ran out of time today. The new frag racks still not assembled yet as I ran out of 1/2" PVC pipe. Another trip to Lowe's tomorrow! Ugh! I have plenty of GAC to run when I do frag it.

I ordered another jebao wave pump, a SOW 15 to replace the dead RW 15 that died months ago. Been running the RW 8 I've had in its place. The RW 8 will be placed on the back glass to push water down the back of the tank behind the rock work.
