New frags are in the frag tank. All look good from shipping and of course they are stressed, so no pictures of them for now. I’ll wait till I get my lens filter in the mail to take pictures. The frags will stay in the frag tank until they settle

I got this one and had pretty good reviews:

We’ll see! (No pun intended! Lol)

The phosphate I ordered from loudwolf should be here soon.

Been messing around with the wave pumps in the DT. I hate the Jebao controllers! I need to find a controller solution for them! Was looking at the hydros wave engine, but I’m not sure if it would work. I may have to email Carlos at coralvue for some insight if it can work and how to use one.

Other than that the tank is doing very well. That’s all for now.

Friday night update:

The trisodium phosphate from loudwolf showed up and I made my first batch of phosphate solution from it. Using this calculator: http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/calculator.htm
The total amount in the bottle I ordered is 113 grams.

Here’s the run down on how I dosed my system:

My total water in my system is 240 gallons ish.

Using 2 teaspoons of trisodium phosphate mixed into 475 ml (2 cups) of RO/DI water.

Adding 7 ml of this solution would raise my phosphate to 0.07ppm.

I’m out of reagents for my Hanna checker at this moment, but will order some tonight.

I did dose 7 ml to the tank. Why do this? Because I know when my Montipora caps pale a little, there is most likely no or little P04 in the system.

Give it a day or two and I’ll see if it helped. It should as it has in all the other times in the past.

My filter lens kit has shipped and is on its way. ETA is sometime next week.

Update: yesterday I did some tank work and moved somethings and did some trimming of the big montipora cap as it was growing towards my acro colony on top.

I would post some pictures of what I did, but I’m waiting for my lens filter kit. It’s should be here today! When I get it I’ll try it out and post some pictures.

Looking forward to the future comparos. I might be dosing no3 and po4 in the next build. Thanks for sharing Don, as always.

New lens pics came out beautiful btw.

I got very busy this weekend and today my son came by to show off his new puppy. A German Shepard pup named Tango. We where worried that Milo our boxer would flip out with the male pup. He fell in love with him! Now Remi wasn’t sure and we had to keep her away from him.

Milo and Tango played for hours.

My last big toadstool is growing out of the water and very soon it will have to be fragged. Stay tuned!

What exactly is that and what does it do ?

Mrs. wages pickling lime. It’s food grade calcium hydroxide. Same as kalkwasser powder. Way cheaper. Adds calcium and boosts alkalinity. I add it to my top off water.
