Frogspawn not extending?

hi all for the past week my frogspawn has barely extended at all. I did a big water change and checked what I have test kits for. Nothing has changed regarding lighting, I did adjust the power head slightly so maybe it's that.

temperature is 35.7°c
SG- 1.025
ph- 8
dKh - 7.5

It is probably due to the flow change, hopefully it is just sulking.
How long have you had it?

Is there anything other test kit I need to buy?

I was wondering if they do sulk or not. I had actually posted by accident, the rest of the post is below with the photos lol.
I've had it since February and it was always extending until now. No change in temperature or salinity etc and after doing a large water change and rechecking I'm stuck for ideas

I would move it to lower flow on the sandbed and possibly Iodine dip it.

I dipped it in this when I got it in February but it doesnt have iodine in, it's the only dip I currently have. I've been fallow for 11 weeks until 10 days ago so it cant be a parasite or bacteria can it if I've not added anything?

Lower the frag towards the bottom, moderate light and water flow and heavier on blue for lighting.
Feed 1-2x per week. ASSURE SALINITY GAGE IS CALIBRATED AND THAT YOU ARE NOT GETTING A FALSE READING whereas your salinity is higher than your gage shows

Phew! Looks good!

I really hope it isn't brown jelly because I had a hammer look like this the same day where the tissue just receded and was gone in less than a day :(. I have heard of many reefers using a bit of Lugols for their torches/hammers when they sulk/recede/or look infected.

Temp high which affects salinity. I again suggest to check salinity. Time to float ice packs to bring down temperature.
Fill 2-4 ziplock bags of water and float one.
when it melts, remove and place another frozen one until you reach desired temperature. Place the thawed one back in freezer

Its 25.7 not 35.7 I just typed it wrong sorry.
I've checked that the gage is calibrated properly which it was and I re-checked salinity which is still 1.025

I just got my magnesium test kit and it is about 1490, is this too high? I dont know if that could cause a problem?
I fed the frogspawn yesterday and moved it lower in the tank and it looks a little better today

Sounds fine to me. Are you using the Red Sea test kit? I heard from others that it usually reads Mg a bit higher than Salifert. ~1500 for Red Sea was ~1400 for Salifert.

How large is your tank, how big was the WC, is your RODI unit working properly (not exhausted/ 0 tds?) Any chance for temp shocks?

I might try changing the filters though as I've not changed them since I started in December.
I guess theres could have been temp shocks because the weather has been all over the place but each time I've checked it's been between 25.7 and 26.
I have found reef keeping to be a challenge so far but it keeps it interesting haha

I would definitely get new filters and do another WC and see if that improves. Not 100% sure if that would solve the issue but I only put 0 tds into my tank and it would eliminate that variable.

Reef keeping is definitely a challenge! You could put two similar corals a few inches apart and then one could do amazing and the other could look like it’s about to die. I don’t get it :rolleyes: but very intriguing and interesting!
