I got one a while ago I feed it a bit of algaebarns phyto . Like alot of phyto but I've worked there for several years but mine grow great

I recently finished reading James Fatherree's book about giant clams in reef aquariums. He does not seem to be a huge advocate of target feeding. Fatherree instead recommends having higher nutrient levels by increasing bioload and fish feedings.
My phosphate level is 0.09-0.1 (Hanna) but nitrates still undetectable (API). Perhaps I need a better Nitrate test kit...and a big Naso tang

I definitely don't have low nutrient problem... I always have high nitrate issue

my nitrate is hovering around 60-70
phosphate at 0.2

been swapping to cleaner food and getting rid of my big fish. nutrient is slightly coming down

We are dealing with completely opposite problems. I got to the point where I had to remove the protein skimmer and carbon reactor. Just running filter floss and a bag of carbon in the sump. Thinking of adding more fish.
