So I bought a apex controller to go with my new build here coming shortly.... What do you guys use for directions lol.... There is so much crap with this thing I don't know if I will ever figure
It out... Someone mentioned a unofficial users guide is that what I follow???? Lol

What I did on mine is set the IP address, and then connect via PC to configure it. Its very easy to configure from the web. I actually run an app on my Droid X which connects to my Apex, so I can check stats and make changes even when I'm halfway across the country.

I b ought one 2 months ago. Its still in box. I have a guy from my local pet store coming to hook it up. i read the unoffical guide and was brain dead for a day. There is so much to do. I heard if you do it off your computer rather than the apex it is way easier

You have to set the IP on the Apex itself, under Network Settings or something. Once you do that, its so easy to setup. They built in special functions for popular applications. Now, you can simply change Outlet one to a Light Outlet, and it has the settings you'd need below, like time on, time off, failback, and you can set to use the temp probe to turn off if it gets too hot.

There are options for Lights, Pumps, Chiller, Heater, and more. Then it has audible alarms and email alerting as well. I set my email up to send to both my email and my address to text my phone, so if something goes wrong, I know about it pretty quickly. Its a fantastic tool

I have no clue.... To hook it up wireless you need some gamer card correct??? What exactly is is the card I need??? I have a wireless router but I don't know how to set this thing lol....

Hmmm, All I can say is when you get it figure out, let me know. I've got one coming so I'm sure I'll need some help setting it up when it gets here! Maybe I'll just hire someone to come do it for me if it is that difficult.

Mine isn't running wireless. I ran my RO tubing from the laundry room to the garage, so I just piggy backed a cat5e cable along with it. Its a great thing about being in IT, Cat5e is free, haha.

I know if you need to buy a aquabus cable to connect multi ec8 you need to make sure there is no repeater in there

Once you get into it, you'll love it. I keep trying to talk my reef buddies into getting a controller, and that they don't know what they are missing. I think it enables you to focus on different areas of the tank, instead of the burn out on routine dosing or maintenance. With mine, I'm able to focus on experimenting with vodka, Magnesium, Strontium, etc, instead of worry about dripping kalk or any of that.

nice controller and very flexible when you get in to the advanced programing but the basic setup is easy two

Yup, you can do some cool stuff with the controller, its all up to the imagination. For instance, to do a wave maker, I set one outlet for a Koralia to turn on and off. Then, I set the second outlet for another Koralia to turn on when the other is off, and turn off when the other is on. Worked fantasitic.

I bought mine 5 months ago...... finally got water in my tank 1 month ago, but the apex is still in the box. I have everything I need to set it all up, and hopefully this will be one of the things that gets done this weekend. I will post as I figure it all out......

I bought it to run my new diy led fixture I'm gonna build when time permits.... I should be able to make storms, dim, high noon blast etc... Then I
Learned I can control ally vortecs with the wireless add on but seemed kinda pointless since there Eco smart already lol

Oh yeah shaper mike said he can set it
All up from his pc where ever he is and I
Would be in business lol..... This thing seems kinda cool ahahahahahahah lol

Nice, I didn't know it could control the Vortech's wirelessly. I must have missed that add on, haha. I just have MP20s right now, so no wireless ability at the moment. Nice find.

Wireless Gaming adapter, you can search Amazon or Best Buy or something similar. You can also you a PowerLine adapter.

You get thing out of the box yet Troy? A controller is something I'd never run a tank without now. Used to run the AC Jr, and then got the Apex for this tank. Def worth the investment.

Ya I plugged it in last night but haven't set anything up... Just using it for ph,orp, and temp for the time being untill I can play with it for a few hours.... I'm sure I will love it once I learn it lol..... I have never ran a controller in my life..... I have a reefkeeper2 I picked up awhile back that's still in a box lol....
