I just finished fighting a bout of dinos. I did a 3 day blackout and ran UV. This method worked fantasic and all dinos gone. This green algae started growing almost immediately after turning the lights back on. Pic is about 2 weeks later. Parameters are good. Nitrates < 5. Phosphate .03

The algae will not easily come off the rocks and the CUC don't seem to be able to remove it either. Could this be the start of coralline or does it look like nuisance? Tank is only 4 months old.

looks like a brand new tank. Stay the course, this is actually easy compared to what could come next. That rock is going to get all sorts of green and brown before it turns purple in a year.

That green doesn't go away in my display started with dry rock.
This is 2 years or so in

I have hunch many tanks have the same type of algae they just don't share pics under whites or they never turn off the blues.

With blue lights added the algae is no longer visible.

That first pic is beautiful. Looks like a nice, rolling, well-manicured lawn.

thats really interesting. I've whitened up my tank but not that much. Luckily I see your second pic and mostly just see coralline on my rockwork. Except for a little bout of cyano that i am dealing with

That is normal in a new tank, mine went away without any intervention. It lasted about a month or so. Welcome to R2R and O-H! The first picture is 11-24-21 and the second is 12-18-21.
