Hello all, I am in the process installing a retrofit kit from pro led supply into my 28g jbj nanocube. Now I have all the old wires out, and im trying to rewire the fans to a 12v power supply that they included. However, its not working. Im connecting the power to the two red wires that come out of the transformer. Just touching the wires together will make the fan blades jump, but not rotate. Am I doing something wrong?

Are you completing the circuit, meaning there also being a common or ground wire attached ??? Black or white usually but sometimes Brown

Well the power supply only has two wires. Now on the other side of the transformer there is a blue and brown wire which goes to the circut board.

Well I feel stupid. I solved my own problem. I don't need the transformer, just needed to directly wire the power to the circut board. . *sigh* just goes to show how little I know about electricity.
Now a new problem has showed its head. The holes in the heatsink were spaced improperly. What kind of drill bit do I need to drill the heatsink?

No special bit as aluminum is fairly soft. Good news on getting it figured out, electrical circuits or so simple yet so frustrating at times and you are not the only one who has had issues hooking up these retro-fit kits. For the Electrical Guru it is so basic that they usually omit what should be basic instructions for the rest of us...lol

Cheers, Todd
