help id this worm!

Found this in my tank today. It's about 3 inches long and the size of a few strands of hair and has a yellow head.

Hi Jared, for a proper identification, we would need to see clear, in focus close ups of it's head. If you can see the details of it's head, then this site might help you figure out what it is.

Unfortunately this is the best photo I got before I chucked him. All I really wanted to make sure was that it wasn't some dreaded worm I didn't know about.

Most any worm will be either harmless or a beneficial member of your clean up crew, there are but only one or two that we need to worry about.

Hard to be sure without a closer photo of it but it does appear to be a flatworm and probably something you want to remove
