Any idea on the PAR you are cooking the banana at?
I had him at 375 for about 4 months and it developed minty green tips. I moved him back to about 280 around 2 months ago and that is where the pic was taken. He lost most of the minty green so I have brought him back up to about 325 to try to achieve a happy mix of yellow/green.

Thanks, I'm waiting for one to arrive so I figured might as well get a baseline, I appreciate the response.

the new york show was a good one I cant wait for 2022
If everyone there gave you as many Benjamins as I did, you should've driven home in a Brinks truck!

I wasn't there for very long. It was a weird feeling being in a "crowd" shoulder to shoulder for the first time in a year. I think I was half vaxxed by that time though.

The only other purchases I made were with Greg's Corals. He always has some classics at reasonable prices.

I hope everybody is having a great Holiday and end of the year! this thead hit 100k views. Thank you all so much for your interest as I hope we are providing good content to the reefing community.

We are always trying to do better when it comes to testing, so we have bought 2 of the same Milwaukee digital salt Refractometers and getting 2 different reading. It's very frustrating and interesting as you can see from the below pictures. We know it is because of the temperature reading on them. As you can see below we used a temp gun to see how accurate the reading are. On the 1st Picture you can see that the temp gun reading on the 2nd refractometer is off the temp gun reads 23.6 with the refractometer reads 24.4. The salt reads 1.027.

now in the second Picture you can see the Temp gun and the refractometer is closer in range with a salt reading of 1.026 which i guess it he more accurate measure.

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this? and if anybody else has ever done this experiment?

Not sure where I learned it, but someone mentioned once to use your palm to heat up the Milwaukee checker to temperature of your display so that the correct temperature correction is done.

If you want a very accurate, automatically temperature corrected, way to calibrate;
