Just did my first ICP test and it was recommended to change my mixed bed resin. I changed it not too long ago. Any recommendations to keep it low?

Are you on municipal water? If so, are you to find a quarterly quality report?

Mine comes up high in these ICP tests but I just ignore it.

Some people DOSE silica/silicon, and my actual tank was just below normal in silicon so I saw no harm done.

Mine was at 930

Sounds good. Maybe I’ll just replace the resin as recommended for now though

It probably wouldn’t do much, since others come up as undetectable

Don’t chase silica to reduce it unless you have a serious diatom problem. It is pretty typical to have a little in ro/di since it is one of the harder ions to remove.

If you ro/di is producing 0-1 ppm tds, I would not do more.

One more thing if you can help me with please . My ICP is low on fluorine . I see you have a DIY for fluoride . Is that the same thing for fluorine?

You seem knowledgeable too! Can you help me with this if Randy is busy ? @bluemon
Yes same thing.

Fluoride is just the ion of fluorine, as the test tests for ions.

I would NOT dose individual ions if they are lacking. Most of these trace minerals are not that important, and plus, you have no way of testing the water for fluoride afterwards.

The only thing I would bother dosing is iron and manganese

I also just got an ICP back from ATI which shows high silicon in my RODI (391.5 which is listed as critically high). The ICP-MS on the tank shows silicon is in the normal range. After reading this thread it seems like it is okay to do nothing for the time being.
