It appears my fish have ich/velvet and flukes I fully QT all my fish. I did have a mandrin that was not QT and it died or it could of been the new crabs. I do not want as many fish to die this time so what do I do how do I treat and how do I know what they have?

Velvet- Can’t count the white spots.
Ich- You can likely count the white salt sprinkles.
Flukes- Tiny flat worms that are easily removed via freshwater dip.

Get the fish out of the system and treat with copper or whatever is compatible for the specific fish you have in a separate quarantine tank. Not all medications work or will be safe for all fish. There are charts you can easily follow in the other forum.

Get on the fish disease forum and post there are have a moderator (pm them) move this thread there.

Ich/velvet can definitely come in on a mandarin (ask me how I know) and also on crabs. It is recommended to QT inverts/corals and ANYTHING WET for 76 days to avoid introducing ich and other parasites via non-fish occupants.

I’d start with a 5-minute freshwater dip on each fish and transfer to QT. Look for flukes during the dips to confirm/rule out their presence.

Then, you’ll need copper or CP for velvet. If you are SURE it’s ich, TTM is also an option.

The clown has a whitish area in between the back two stripes. It is hard to see the tiny white dots on the damsels.

You don’t need to freshwater dip them... THAT is definitely flukes

You can treat with Prazi in your tank, just keep it heavily aerated (skimmer running without the cup) and be aware that if you have a large bristleworm or feather duster / worm population the die-off can be problematic.

I’d have water mixed-up ahead of time for a water change, just in case.

Black fish tend to show them much better than most. Here’s a black clown with a severe infestation to compare:

If it’s not flukes, then the picture wins for the best impersonation [emoji23]

I don't have a skimmer I do have a feather duster. That thing on his head is a fluke? He has had it on both sides since I got him at a fish store three months ago. Also still no luck with catching them.:(

Not to undo any of the other good recommendations, I suggest you get a large UV sterilizer and run it on reduced flow. To kill larvae of free swimming parasites requires more dwell time than to kill algae spores.

Increasing gas exchange to keep dissolved oxygen as high as possible or embrace German technology and get an oxygenator which uses hydrogen peroxide to oxidize organics in the water.
