How to dose all for reef

Do you count the full water amount in the whole system, tank and sump in order to dose the correct amount?
You can use it as the starting point.
However, dosing by water volume is not a good way to do it. You should monitor consumption for a week or two and adjust as needed.

Dose according to the need of corals and clams, not according to how much water you have in the system.

Love the product and agree with this point. I guess I could have just tested Alk, but honestly, the Trident made the first week or so very easy as it did require fine tuning. I’m ultimately supplementing lightly with Red Sea Alk to keep Alk between 8-9 and not unnecessarily keeping ca and Mg high.

Ok great thank you!

On the thought of dosing in the morning for the alk to be available for the corals..
.. AFR takes 24 to 36 hours to 'process' and impact the tank. So timing it for alk availability is doable, but wld take a good bit of testing and prob during initial implementation of Afr to see how long until your system sees the Alkalinity go up from the previous dosing period. Also why starting with One single dose all at once is best. Then ..once you know the total amount you need ...and how long until your tank sees the alk effects... you can then split up the dose and at a time that will line up with coral demands once available. :)

Is that 24-36 h something you have measured? It’s significantly longer than I expect/have heard from others.

It will take longer at first, but gradually faster as appropriate bacteria expand in numbers.

Just what it said on tm Afr bottle.
And when I started implementing I saw it at least took overnight.. but lately over a year in on this method.. i ran out and didnt know and had a big alk drop.. so With all the testing I've done lately to check Alk.. I Should have it measured by now! Lol.. But.. I raised back up with Ash & bi-carb mixed and my normal AFR dosing is spread out over 5 hrs during photo period so really hard to know when it hits as I kept same dose amount which maintains whatever level I'm at. Same with the Kalk I dose through the night as part of my method.
I've done 2part before, the balling method, advanced hybrid balling method and just kalk... and This Kalk and AFR method has done better for me than anything else, and it's so easy!
