You will still want to calibrate it if the amount is something critical but do it at the flow rate you are going to use. The way Hydros calibrates is it runs the pump for 1 minute and you measure the amount and tell the Hydros how much was dispensed. It then uses that to either reduce time run or add to it to get the desired does you want to dose. I would also if it was me drop the flow off of maximum flow. I don't like running things at their absolute maximum ratings if I don't have to. You should be able to run at 200ml a minute without any issues it will just run longer each time.
Any idea if you can change the direction of the pump? My tubing would fit better if the flow went the other way based off where one pulls from and one empties to.

I believe the Sole can be forward or reverse flow.

The flow rate has + or - values, simply choose the - for reverse.

Use a negative flow rate for it to run in reverse.

Wonder where they hid that little tidbit. lol.
One of the X10 pumps used for the fill pump for the iV runs both directions. The drain pump will do the initial drain. The fill pump fills it and then it is stirred for a few seconds and then the fill pump drains it. It then fills it a small amount. Then the drain pump run long enough to make sure it is completly drained. The fill pump then dispenses 100ml into the iV for the alkalinity test. I have both the drain and fill pump running back into the sump but since it is done this way you could have the drain pump dump to waste but you would have to add some fresh saltwater to replace the amount that is getting dumped to waste. I test 4 times a day on a 42 gallon tank and have no issue with the initial drain going back into the sump. So it is kind of nice that you can do that for some instances.

If you are testing alk, check out the aquawiz. No reagent and tests every hour.

I use the results in the Hydros to dynamically dose a KH buffer so I would have to have one that is compatible with the Hydros system where it would automatically get the data in the Hydros.

Aquawiz has it built in. Has its own dosing pump to raise alk also has a connection that will send the results to a ph port to be read out as alk. Not sure how the hydros ph port would handle it

I already have the X10 and iV setup and running and the info is available on the Hydros app with all my other data. I have been using the iV X10 since they came out with it. I am used using it after the 2 years I have had it, but thanks for the heads up about the Aquawiz though.

So far it’s the only one I know that doesn’t use reagent. I’m sure the copycats will start coming out at a cheaper price…..and that look better. lol.

Hmmm. Don’t see anywhere to set a negative flow rate.
just type in the flow rate and use the - sign and then the flow rate when typing it in on the schedule and the pump output. Below I set one to -75ml per minute on the schedule.

Now way to manually dose in that direction? Or calibrate in that direction ?
If you setup the flow rate in the pump output for that direction by using the minus sign it should calibrate in that direction and manually dose also but that is something I have not tried to do though.

Yeah I didn’t see negatives on the manual dose/ calibrate screen, but with the numbers set to negatives in the other sections do indeed run the manual and calibrate in the other direction.

The calibrate and manual dose uses the flow rate setup in the pump output. If you create a schedule it will default to the pump output settings when you choose the pump output in the schedule, but you can change them in the schedule. So schedules can differ from the pump output settings when they run if needed.

Also. There isn’t a setting to get notified when the sole actually makes its dose is there? I just see it in the logs after awhile.

Not directly but you could create an output using the combiner mode type. That uses other outputs as inputs. You could set it for 1 input and select the pump output as the i out. The enable advanced settings and set the maximum on time for a few seconds and set run past max on time to off. Then set the alert level the the one you want to use. Any time the created output is on for the amount of time set it will send an alert. you could call it something and add Pump On to it. You do not need to set a output device so that can be left at none since you are only using it for logic.
