What do you use to keep the water moving? Or do you just hope power is restored soon?

Battery operated air pump made by Hagen. Not going to move a ton of water but keeps the water oxygenated.

1000w generator to power the tank and MH light.....A few years ago we lost power due to storms for a week and a half...The night the power went out I went and bought it after years of hoping the power would come back on in times past..Good thing I did too everytime the power company gave us a new date it kept getting pushed back, it also ran a fan and powered the cell phone. The crappy part was the otherside of the street didn't lose power at all...

I need toget the battery back up.

Vortech battery backup and a 6700watt generator.
I bought the generator almost 2 yrs ago and I used it for the first time this last March. Worked like a charm, powered everything in the house.
I bought the vortechs just a couple of months ago and decided to get the battery backup for in case I'm not home when the power goes out.
Cheap insurance if you ask me.

I haven't had an outage last more than 2 or 3 hours in over 15 years. With that being said, I just got a used generator a couple months back. You know Murphy and his law.

Battery powered air pumps short term and a 4000w generator long term. The genny also powers my beer fridge so it makes the outages go better:wink:

short term i dont really do anything. a few hours without flow is not going to hurt anything at all. long term several hours or more i have a 15000 slab generator that is wired into the house. so far since buying the generator i have NEVER had to use it other then for a month start just to keep things working well. figures that once i break down and buy the dang thing i go years without needing one. of course hurricane season is right around the corner so knock on wood.
