My old 225g was just getting too small. All of my coral had reached it's limits inside and I decided to go larger and go glass.

It's been a long six months in the making, and I lost quite a few fish over the months, but I'm up and running now and ready to start anew.

Congratulations on the upgrade. Can't be easy to do a change like that, sorry about your losses. Will be fun to see this one get going!

Glad to see you're back, Brad! Can't wait to see the new tank fill in like the 225g!

Thanks guys, It's was a ruff one for sure. First try we spent 8 hours tearing down my old tank and once we had all of the rock and coral in the new one, the bottom cracked! We had to tear it down and re-plumb my old tank back. Rebuilt the new tank in my basement and that took 5 weeks. I'm so glad it's all over and I can get back in the game.

Brad the new system is beautiful! How are you liking the glass?

Thanks Rev. I absolutely Love it. So easy to clean, and no worries of scratching it. Acrylic is beautiful, but soooo hard to keep it looking nice. This beast is a pleasure to clean. LOL

Awesome!

I have to ask about the frogspawn...

That's a story in itself. When we first started draining the tank, It's own weight was its demise, It completely broke to pieces from its own weight. I ended up with around 200 heads and kept 3 colonies and sold the rest to the LFS for 5 bucks a head. He had 4 tanks full of frogspawn. LOL But has since sold most of it.

You start ta think awww there can't be anything better than this tank, from all the posts and pictures with all the beauty in them and...Bamm!!! here comes another nice tank!

I figured it would be impossible to remove. Thanks for posting your pics and good luck with the new tank!

Absolutely stunning!!

Beautiful as always Brad, I'm sure you'll have it back to the full grown thriving system it was in it's older days.

I love the tile on the wall behind it, I have the same stuff in my entry and my wood stove surround.

Thanks Chris. Being a tilesetter makes it an easy to do. I was going to put more on the walls this go around but I was vetoed on it by the wife and others. They like it the way it is.
The tank is doing fantastic, I'm getting new growth on all the plates and acro's. And, I have a few fish coming this week from PIA.
I'll post more pics when they settle in.

Wow those huge pieces you had in the 225 look so small in your new tank. Congrats on the upgrade Brad!!!

Well, I lost quite a few from a virus back in March. (Curse of TOTM on RC) and then lost around 8 during the transfer after the bottom broke.
Lets just say, I have 7 left.:ooh:
