Good Evening Folks!
Is this internal parasites or egg bound?

No new fish, about 3 months in tank. Part of a "mating" pair they have been displaying to each other for months, now seems a little aggressive towards eachother. 50g tank no other fish
I know Api general cure is reef "safe" but it is not available across in the UK, so finding it difficult to treat. Any ideas welcome.

Hard to determine anything from a top down pic. Egg bound is possible as is constipation.
Is fish breathing normal or heavy?
An equivalent to general cure which I dont deem reef safe is Nt Labs acriflavin or Waterlife Myxazin

This appears as constipation but an educated guess. If eating, try brine shrimp or better yet, dont feed for 12-18 hours and see if weight/bulk is reduced

The rapid breathing means this is some systemic issue, I don’t think it is egg binding. I just posted an article on abdominal swelling in fish:

Thank you both for you help, much appreciated!

The both fish have not been eating for a few days, male is starting to eat.
I cannot see a prolapse. There was a very long white stringy faeces hanging on a while ago.
I have a QT tank arriving tomorrow with some NT Labs Antifluke. I have a filter sponge soaking in the water tonight and mature maxspect biospheres in the sump. Debating whether a ro bath and antifluke in QT will help or stress the fish?

A filter sponge will need weeks to months to develop beneficial bacteria, so hopefully your biospheres will be more fully colonized.
