Ha ha you got me!. I have mine still in the quarantine system and lost the pink but looks healthy. I'll post a pic when I get back from vaca.

This was after the first week.

This is from today. I don't take the best pictures but this is what I can do! It's hard to tell from the picture but there is pink and the tips have purple.

And a sideview picture of a small branch that's forming.

So, leaving frags on their plugs and mounting them above the rock structure like u did, will create more vertical growth and less encrusting growth? Compared to snapping them off the frag plug and glueing to the live rock?

In theory, yes. My good friend who has A LOT of sps colonies does that and says they grow faster vertically rather than encrusting. It makes sense to me. When a frag encrust, it encrusts to secure itself in that spot. Until it feels solid and safe then it'll exert energy to grow up. When it's raised with a frag plug it wraps itself around the plug and feels like it's safe from getting blown away. Then it'll reach for the stars! At least it makes sense in my mind:)

In the case of this sunset milli I have apparently it still doesn't feel safe even after encrusting about 10 square inches without any vertical growth! Drives me nuts! However Acropora Tenius seem to like branching/vertical growth so I'll think you'll see it grow upward sooner rather than later.
