Earlier tonight. It’s literally folding in on itself. When did you start shooting aiptasia with the laser? Is it really working? My concern is that they will duplicate and not perish.
It’s had great reviews before I bought it. Obviously avoiding the fish when using it and I’m wearing eye protection.cant that blind the fish tho? and what about the coral? have u tried smaller wattage lasers?
OK. Let us know how it goes!Earlier tonight. It’s literally folding in on itself.
I added peppermint shrimps from ReefTopia, and they eliminated all of them. I forgot aiptasia even exists.
Try those shrimps from that source. They’ve been completely reef safe.
They are proven for me.They probably have true peppermints and they work like a charm. There are like 6 varieties sold as peppermint but only one is an actual peppermint that eats Aiptasia
see my above post, I must have been the lucky one lol. Mine would ignore aptasia and see my beloved giant BTA as a big aptasia treat, they aren't only aptasia focused and can prey on anemones/other soft coral, they usually don't care about SPS thoughThey are proven for me.
I tried them last year. I added 6 to my 260 gallon. I didn’t see a single aiptasia after a week (not exaggerating). Later that year, I had to dose interceptor to my tank which wiped them all out. The aiptasia started coming back after several months. I added 6 more, and again, they completely eradicated them within a week. I wish people would just listen and buy them. I don’t understand the obsession with kalk paste, joes juice, aiptasia X, epoxy, lemon juice, vinegar, etc.
Do people like to make themselves suffer??
That’s why I mentioned specifically the Reeftopia source. They aren’t the same. I keep a variety of LPS, acros, and clams. I never had a single loss from peppermint shrimp. They are seriously the best. I always told myself when I find the “cure” for aiptasia, I’d scream it from the rooftops.see my above post, I must have been the lucky one lol. I killed so many copperbands. They did not eat aiptasia, and all quickly died. I haven’t had 1 of them eat a single piece. My tank is 260 gallons and it’s pure bliss to not even think about them anymore. I don’t do anything. They just don’t exist.
It is so ironic lol I had a copperband in 90G that only ate aptasia/feather dusters/pods in the first two months of keeping him , made sure I never had aptasia again or sadly feather dusters but I acceptedThat’s why I mentioned specifically the Reeftopia source. It’s very unlikely to get ich from them. I’m almost positive they don’t even keep fish with them.Is there tank ich free?
