This is one of my favorite corals. The colors are so vibrant and I really like the growth structure. Mine is in a tough spot to photograph. I'll have to get a top down shot of it

Hey buddy. Does your Flame acro have the red base?

I just got a small nub and it looks so ugly that I thought of chugging it out .
But I shall wait . Currently in quite high light of 350+ under radium halides .
Is it suggested to move it lower with my other smooth skins ?

Regards,
Abhishek

Crazy talk. I have an RR The Vinh that was brown and had ABSOLUTELY ZERO polyp extension and boom... it's coming back.

Could people post their par, if known, as well as their color temp? How about time from brown frag to colorful wonder coral?

Mines at about 350 par. It arrived from battlecorals with great color and has not lost it after several months.
Well done!
My flame went out within weeks.
It was mostly brown until the base was formed. Just starting to color up.

What's up Sahin, Mine is up high in my tank and is getting a lot of light. The base is the same color as the body, a reddish pink. The colors on mine got more vibrant when I moved it up to where it is now.

Old thread, but I thought it was worth reviving. My FF didn't really get good color until it was moved up a bit. Now, it's one of my fastest growers and is definitely a favorite!
Mid tank just shy of 400 PAR. T5's and reefbrite actinic strip.

Here is a 3 month difference. First photo was when my tank was 1 month old (used bio media from my old established tank. It’s just now starting to take off. 07CDA01D-8EAB-436A-8A28-7BE3BAAAE2FB.jpeg

I got mine as a small super pale fraglet about 1.5 years ago. I didn't even know what it was until about 6-7 months later when it started to color up. In the past 9 months it has grown into quite a nice small-but-not-too-small colony. Problem is that it has started to grow out of its skin as my nitrates are super high. Working on that!! Otherwise, the color is fantastic and it's high up in my tank under Orphek Atlantiks. Guessing the par is 400-ish though I haven't measured it in a while.
