I have an IM50 (30x24x16). I plan to stock mainly SPS and clams. I have been out of the hobby for awhile (9 years - yikes!) and need some advice with the new Radions. I am trying to decide if 1 Gen6 XR30 pro will be enough to support the corals and clams. From the PAR spread reports that I have seen it might be enough? Any other suggestions for lighting?

I love my reefis they are more than strong enough for all types of coral. You'd need probably about two for SPS and clams. They are half the price of radions.

I would buy the 3 bar bundle that Luca is going to offer of the Helix bars. It's a combo of meso blue and reef crest daylight. You get a free printed tank mount and money in your pocket to buy some sticks. I would never spend money on a new radion when there are so many other fixtures out there that are better suited and much cheaper. Quanta lights all the way. Reefi's are another choice, but you would need two. Also, a single xr30 isn't going to cover your tank properly. My son has the older version of the IM50 lagoon and he's going with the 3 bar bundle when they're available.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
