Lighting upgrade suggestion for 45cm cube

Hi All,


I have a mixed reef with sps up on a slightly higher shelf of the tank with an AI Prime HD. My params have been stable long term with minimal fluctuations yet growth isn't that great. I also recently got a couple of acros which i understand need more light than most of your montis. I rented a PAR meter and my sps area is about 80-150 PAR which is lower than i thought. Even maxing the light i can get 175 in the highest area. I was told to aim for about 250 PAR as a start.

I was thinking of getting a Hydra 26 for more light. Or does anyone have any other suggestions? Mixed reef 90L 45cm cube.

I suggest you look at the new K7 light by Noopsyche if you are looking at the AI26, as this light will accomplish what you desire at a better price point.

Im putting up a similar sised cube that will be mixed but mostly sps and i decided to bite the bullet and ordered Ecotech marine Radion XR15W G4 and will use it with the diffuser. It is slightly more powerful than Hydra 26HD but a bit less with the diffuser.
More than enough for a 45cm cube either way.

Never had a Radion before and hoping it lives up to the hype:P

I was thinking one of those also onpy thing i dont like is they dont come in white :p my cabinets in white and so is my current light. I feel like they blend in with the white wall behind it well. They look like a super good light though. Ive never had one myself either

I totally understand that, it kinda annoys me too as i prefer white cabinets and fixtures.

I have decided to try out adding another Prime. Has the same power as a Hydra but will give better spread
