I believe the Dino’s have claimed my toadstool. It doesn’t try to open any more and the icky stuff strays in as much as it can. Of course it probably doesn’t help me blowing it off every time I turn around, causing the toad to just not want to open.

can you put it in higher flow area ?
I can try. It’s attached to a rock but the rock is small. Should be able to move it over some.

Putting a piece of filter material(like the blue/ white stuff) in a high flow/ high light place( like draped over a powerhead, using the magnet to hold it to the glass) does a excellent job of keeping dinos off your corals, while you get your nutrients up a little( I just fed more and dumped the skimate back in a couple times). Logic says changing it before lights out would be most effective, I think I read to change it just before lights come on. I don't notice the difference, just change it everyday until it stops getting covered in dinos everyday. I've been doing this about 3-4 weeks now and recently noticed that I don't see dinos on rock or anywhere. Maybe use a powerhead and blow it off every one in a while to speed the process.

Clever! Do you have pics of how you’ve done it?

I did move the rock to right in front of the powerhead, and aside from some sand being kicked up in the corner it should have plenty of flow to keep it from being bothered. I’ll check this afternoon when I get home to see if I need to tweak it some. May need to turn the power down some.

Also I did notice they exploded when I added the skimmer. I was told by an old reefing friend skimmers remove urine (he stated that marine fish pee whereas freshwater fish do not and one of the most important parts of a skimmer is removing urine.) but I will most likely just open it up and let it flow the skimmate back through. My system is way too clean lol.

I rinsed mine just before lights out and right before lights on.

I just used the white filter floss sheets and cut about an 8"*5" strip and hung it from the lid.

And the dinos are just attracted to it or? Sounds just crazy enough to work

Thanks! This is a little older pic (I think a couple of months old) but everything is doing great except for the left Alveopora. Not sure why but it's started receding and dropping polyps.

Mornin!

One secret Santa gift sent, gotta find something on the list for the other. The price range on one persons is so dramatic lol. I have an idea of what to do though.

on the tank side of things, the toadstool was a bit “fatter” but not as “wide” if that makes sense and looked to be shedding. O maybe today when I get home it’ll have some pretty colors to welcome me lol.

Tomorrow and Friday the kiddo have off, which gives me a couple extra days to play in water.

I rehomed the two bettas that I needed gone, and cleaned up a few tanks to part with. I really hate to list the Waterbox 10 but I don’t have a plan and the longer it sits the more I’m saying to myself “a zoa garden would be super cool in there.” Which, yes it would but no, I cant. I have to try and save up for the Eden 20 for future macs.

I think I want to part with the pallifina eventually. Get the 20 long gone because I really don’t need that spot. But also it’s a pain to keep the hand hole covered. I need to learn 3D designing.

But yeah I have two three gallons, a six gallon and the Waterbox 10 cleaned and listed with very little interest. Sigh. I’m really in no rush for the money, if it comes in too much of split intervals I’ll end up spending it on stupid things cause it literally burns holes in pockets.
