Möbius Program Editing

I’ve just switched my lighting from RedSea ReefLED90’s to the XR15’s, and I feel like I’m missing something when attempting to edit the lighting program for the XR in Mobius.

I would expect that I should be able to edit the lighting schedule without the lights responding to my editing until I actually click save at the end. However, it seems the lights will instantly change as soon as I click on a point on the graph. For example, if I click somewhere in the middle of the cycle just to see what the settings for that particular point in the day are, then the tank light instantly changes to that light intensity, which is obviously particularly problematic when I’m trying to look at the schedule at night when the lights are already off.

Am I missing a setting or step somewhere, or is this really how this app works?

That's just how it works with Mobius. It shows you whatever setting you are making (light intenstity, color spectrum etc) as you make the adjustment. If you don't hit SAVE then it won't change. It is a little annoying but i think they must reason that people want to see how changes will look before saving.

I have XR30 radions too. 2 lights synced to one another. It's annoying as heck and worse of all if I do it to many times ie adjusting the spectrum and intensity one of the lights will inevitably go out of sync and won't update and I have to switch the entire light on and off at the power brick. Really shouldn't happen with a $700 to $1000 product. Pathetic.

Hopefully you don't have mobius start randomly switchings time and date causing the lights to come on in the middle of the night, it will really make you appreciate them. It's happened to me often enough my gen4 XR15s are sitting on a shelf.

So far in the 9 months I had them, it's done it once. One of the lights turned on before dawn. Luckily I happened to be up very early that day and caught it. Had to switch it off and on a couple of times to get it to reset. I'm considering getting a different light like Reefi. Also I really abhor the fact that ecotech uses a cloud based system. The day Ecotech goes under/bankrupt, I won't be able to control these lights.

Yep for the price the Möbius app is absolutely terrible. I wish I done my research before I purchased these lights . Maybe they will fix it one day .
