No angry talk. Just proving that people are stacking the voting system. Which if I wanted to sit and do this all day I would but I found that by actually getting people driven to the Marine Depot page worked better for me. What stinks is instead of trying to do right people find the loopholes. Marine Depot has stated that they are aware of the cheating and will be sitting down to disqualify the ones who have improperly submitted votes. Sorry!

Yeah I tried to stay as quite as possible and just let them dig their own graves. When I emailed and asked questions they told me that multiple votes would not count. I knew about the bug and flaw with the tracking cookie being installed so I just kept promoting and promoting and promoting. Also, cookies have IP's attached from the installer end so they know not to install the cookie again. When you clear it it just logs another IP which would be the same. Simple sort function in excel will tell you how many duplicates there are. To bad this will probably ruin the competition for everyone.

That's fine I am glad you brought this up ... In that thread on my local forum I posted that I submitted a video in the contest and asked for votes.. People pointed out the flaws in the voting system and the fact they didn't post any rules. I did vote multiple times along with other users even on here. My other votes were actually for some other videos I believe deserved the votes and one happen to be yours. It's Marine Depots contest and I am sure they will do what they see fit.

Also you call it cheating... If there are no rules and the extra votes I casted with my other emails were for you and 3 others is that considered cheating?

That is a public part of our forum and anyone can go look it up if they wish.. It is kind of like a news article your focusing on small portion and leaving out everything else.

Matties right, its not cheating if its for other people. Plus if it isn't stated in the rules then they can't disqualify anybody. They will have to either cancel the contest or re-do it some how.

No worries then I am in! You know it is all good! Good luck on the contest and thanks for the extra votes :). I wish you would post a link to the public forum that suddenly was set to private. You must be a moderator of those forums or an officer of your club to dictate that since it was stumbled upon. Good luck and keep clicking!

I contacted the Marine Depot Service team. They said that people had been caught crating so it would take a while for their marketing team to decide on what they are doing. They said it was a hack or something. They can't clarify what qualifies as cheating.
