Yep, I use water from the main system for the dip and the rinse. It is not advisable to ever dip sps in freshwater for what it's worth.

Any update here? I've seen Reef Primer in my LFS. Have you moved away from Bayer? Still doing both? Or found some new miracle chemical?

i have been using the UWC expel for the last few months actually and i like it a lot. i mix up a little stronger than the recommended dosage but so far so good. Effective and gentle on acros.

Would you go as far to recommend this dip over some of the other options out there? I've run out of Bayer, and the warning labels on it are enough to scare me into looking for other options. I dont strictly do acros but all other corals I dip are less sensitive I feel.

Hi there, Yeah I definitely would I have been echoing that to curious customers as well. It's a way better alternative to bayer. That i am sure of. I have also been experimenting with using a potassium salt brine solution, and will update this thread as I have more info as well.

Where can you get this UWC expel from? I assume it is still not affective against aefw eggs?

Does it take care of all pests? Worms and bugs?

    Thanks

I've been using/testing Expel since it came out and I agree with Adam it's a better option than Bayer.

--It's clear so you can see everything
--It's made with natural ingredients, so non-toxic

I believe it's active ingredient is the same as Melafix. You have to use more Melafix as I don't think it's as concentrated as Expel. In the end the price is the same for both products due to dosing amounts. I prefer both of these over Bayer.

I follow the directions on the bottles for use.

Its pretty gentle all around. In fact I've never really thought of smoothies and any more or less delicate than others. Harsh dips hurt acros pretty much all the same lol

When you say you mix it up stronger than the recommended dose, what is the ratio you are using? I’ve been using bayer but would like to try the UWC expel.
