Nauti Tank 75g Build

I have a couple banded shrimp (I think) that are supposed to eat them. It’s not working…
How many would you suggest for a 75?
Banded shrimp don't eat Aiptasia. Need peppermint or Kuekenthali shrimp. I'd throw 6 in there, assuming 2 disappear and are never seen again, one doesn't know it's an aiptasia-eating shrimp and the others put in all the work for the rest of the team. Kind of like college group projects.

Thats what I meant

Yeah, that guy's supposed to be like the Peppermint Pro version.
I have 2… I’m actually beginning to wonder if I have those aip look alikes, forgot what they were called.

Made a reefcleaners order, including 4 peps.

I have aptasia too. I also have a 6 line wrasse. I keep trying to put peppermint shrimp in my tank and they always disappear. I even go for bigger shrimp but doesn’t make a difference:(

Try adding them after dark?

I've got a Halichoeres leucoxanthus, a Halichoeres melanurus, and a Macropharyngodon meleagris and I had one Peppermint shrimp that survived for about a year.

Posted in THOO, posting in here as well to document on my buid thread.
I have never even tried it because I keep seeing people having issues with it but I never have issues with the browser.

On another note:
Update on my “rare bounce millie”… Most of the polyps inflamation, engorgement, inflation, whatever you want to call it has subsided. However that pale section that Matt asked if it was tissue recession (at the time it was just very pale tissue, good eye Matt) has since started receeding.

Looks like RTN to me, thought on trying to salvage by fragging the very tip or trying KoralRecover by brightwell?

I’m thinking both and put the top on a new plug but try the recover on both and just see what happens.

Also I have some spoinid worm on my duncan and a few others that I have noticed since, some say they are inert but I have noticed growth around where the worms are on acros but not where the worms are and on torches I have noticed flesh band recession and since dipping the torch has looked much happier.

For some reason it wouldn't let me un-bold 🤷‍♂️

I have just placed an order for another flow bundle from dalua, one spare return pump and another powerhead in preps for coral growth.

The return nozzles point upward and inward, the flow produces decent surface agitation and somewhat collides in the front middle, creating a somewhat chaotic flow pattern.

My current powerhead is set to random mode and is near the top and from pf the right glass pane, pointing upward for surface agitation. I was thinking of either placing the new powerhead on the left pane to try to get the flow up and help keep detritus suspended instead of settling in the rear ;)

What do you guys think? Picture below for reference, its hard to describe but I think I dod decently.

You have plenty surface agitation as is.
I might try using dual flexible outputs on the returns, pointing to the corners and back of rocks. Leave the pump on the right alone. And add one on left pane in center...

I like the dual output and will keep that in mind for the next flow upgrade. As it is they are 3/4” RFGs that have a decent enough spread for now.

There is a bit of detritus buildup (currently dealing with it by turkey basting it a couple times a week and vacuuming during water changes) in the sand in the back though and will probably fiddle with it a million times before I find something I like. Aaaannndd then I will likely fiddle with it some more 🤣 JK, kinda…

I would like to place the new one where you said and have a couple smaller powerheads in the back to kick up the detritus a few times a day, need a controller for something like that though. A timer would work for once a day but I “need” more excuses to buy some hydros gear anyway 😜

Edit: plus the powerhead in the middle there may batter the torches and goni a bit much, I’ll give it a shot though. Currently all the flow is pointing up because I was inspired by Steve Weasts (if i’m thinking of the right tank) setup where his is the same way in a much larger tank and his flow is excellent.

No not feather dusters, I have hundreds of those too. I have not tried a flashlight though. Lights are out in that holding tank and Im in bed though. Not in the cards tonight.

Peppermint shrimp
Peppermint shrimp
You'll never see an aip
With a peppermint shrimp
Unless you have a certain wrasse who kills and eats every one introduced to tank…:(
