New ATI Straton Flex LED

Can’t wait to see real world reviews in this.
It'll be good. I have the pro 102 over a 3 foot tank and it cooks. Basically all they did was put the arrays end to end instead of side by side, so I would assume on a 48" tank, you'd be turning the light up at a higher percentage than I would on mine, but it will deliver plenty of light with room to spare. These things are powerful.

Yeah I’d be looking to replace 2xAp9x
Things going well but I’m looking for more fill lighting and front to back spread. Are there t slots in the back of these? Will they cook a 48x24 for acros only? Tank is 16” deep.

Currently you can see the shadows on the front of my ASD Mille and PC rainbow in center of tank.

Very interested in this light and glad it was finally released in the US. Do you think the front to back coverage is sufficient for a 24" width front to back. Debating between pulling the trigger on this or saving up for two standard Straton Pro 102's - which gets expensive.

Oh yeah. If you have 2 102s on a 48 inch tank, you'll never need lights again.
But I would give this new 102 a try. It might be all you need as well.

I'd like to see one in action myself.

Oh man, I was all set on buying two 102 Pros for a standard 120, 48 x 24. Now they're claiming this new light will cover the same area? Since Im going all SPS I assume Ill still need two regardless?

I’m still looking for par testing on 48x24 shallow tank 😊

I got the opportunity to play with their PAR meter and 102 flex on at Reefapalooza this afternoon and PAR numbers seemed pretty impressive. Similar to what you wrote, they recommended a 102 flex over a 48x24 area, and 2 flexes over my 48x36" tank given the 36" width.

Here's the PAR numbers from what I can remember; I think they told me the tank the flex 102 was over had dimensions of 48x24x24. Upper rocks were around 4-600, the bottom of tank was 200's and corners were about 150.

EDIT: This seems consistent with their published PAR numbers on the ATI North America website for Flex

That is insanely impressive par output given that these lights only draw 165 watts!

Is it mounted to a piece of 2020 extrusion? Does it have t-slot mounts on the back?
Nice par numbers, this is what I’ve been watching for.

Agreed. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the PAR output. The question is how shading will be once colonies grow out if running acro system, with it being a bar that’s only 6” in width.

Yep! Not sure what the slots/groooves on the back of light allow for, but they had it mounted to their 2020 tank mount with a plastic mounting adapter! They told me the mount will work with either their tank mount or 2020 extrusion if you want to make your own mount.

Yes. They sell the mounting kits on the website (though you have to buy the legs, rails, and mounting kits separately 🙄). Mine should be here mid week - I purchased a 102 to go over a 48x20 tank.

Where can these mounting options be seen? I don’t see any listed at vendors.
They come with hanging cables and that’s it. Something to do with how they are sold in Germany as luminaries and not “aquarium lights”. Not sure what the difference is as GHL sells lights with mounting options and they are German.
