And I improvised on the rig lol didn’t need the stand mounts lol. I removed the lid on the canopy and mounted them to the frame.

That’s really cool! Seems like a good fit.

So, I’m running the orbit marine dual on my tank. I’ll be replacing them with this light fixture. Can anyone give me their color schedule for the new one? I’m sure it’s not the same as the other.

currently this is my settings.
Only corals for now are my palythoas, a frammer (who’s trying to be convinced to be a host for the clowns) two rock flower nems and a very unhappy Goni. I’m sure they will all need an acclimation to the brighter lights?

I have mine set for sunrise at 7 sunset at 7 and 3 hour moonlight at I think 8%. For my daylight settings I have everything but white at 100 and white is at 68% which visually looks alot like my Phoenix 14K and Ati Blu plus and true actinics. My pictures are up a few posts back

Awesome thanks! Can I ask, what’s the coral in the first pic? I have one similar. Was sold as a frammer. Is that right?

I inherited it from a tank break down but yes it's a frammer, though I wish hammerspawn caught on it sounds cooler. Yours is amazing I've never seen purple like that.

Need a comparison between these, red sea reefled 50, Maxspect jump led, nicrew leds, etc. There are just a lot of options at this price point now, hard to make a decision. The only thing i could say when looking at all options is that red sea will have better shimmer but lots of shading, and maxspect should have the least shading from one fixture. No idea about color rendition though, so if anyone has seen an in person comparison lmk. These do look like a welcome addition in the led market

Thanks for sharing!

IME it’s not possible to not have a disco ball effect unless all the chips are under a single lens (Kessil/Red Sea), every single other LED light turns the sand bed into static. I’d be interested to see some videos of the sand bed with these. Maybe the compact design and wide angle optics will prevent the static, I hope?

Edit: just checked the spectrum. Any color you want, as long as it’s blue… :( *facepalm*

For those that switched from the marine orbit LED strip to the R24s, did you have to adjust light intensity and schedules due to the lights being more intense or did you just throw the new lights on and not skip a beat?

I’m leaning towards these in a couple of weeks but noticed there’s no acclimation mode. I’d like to not mess with my corals too much. Did you guys notice any issues with your corals after the switch?

I had asked them about that. I was told that with the orbit pros, my whites should be close to 60, since my tank is 21” deep. They said be a bit more careful and they had their blues at 85 and whites at 45. So I’m not sure if that would be a starting point or not. I think that if you’re worried (I am) just adjust it down to about what you’re running now, and move it up every week or so. Or however often you should up it when acclimating.

Hey everyone! Just thought I would update everyone with how my lights are doing.

I have had the r24 reef LED for a little over 2 months now. All my corals are doing great! I have almost every type: bubble tip anemone, rock anemone, GSP, green birdnest, xenia, clove polyps, monipora, acropora, hammer, and many more.

I do not have a Par meter myself but I got extra information from current marine that i thought i'd share.

First is this photo which I was never able to find on their website. it shows the PAR rating at different depths.

This is a photo I was sent when communicating with currant marine. It shows the settings they recommend and what they are getting with those settings. (I personally turned down the whites just a little bit).

This is the R24 compared to Radion gen 4 ( a light that is like quadruple the price).

All I know is these lights have worked for me and I personally think they are the best bang for your buck currently on the market.

Amazon now carries these lights with the wireless controller and flex arm included:

we need a par chart not from the company though, companies almost always bump up the par values in their marketing of it. From the image though i would say it looks more or less comparable to a red sea reefled 50, again really taken with a grain of salt though

Hey everyone! Excited to share my wife and I received our new, and newly released last week, Current USA Orbit R24 lights. We did the 3 light setup for our 75g eventual mixed reef.

I had reached out to Current to ask about lighting for this tank and sps corals, since there were so many mixed reviews.

They responded that they would be releasing these lights soon if I could wait until release. I did, and am extremely pleased. They sent me some par data on a 24" deep tank. My tank is 21" with a 2 or 3" sandbed, so I figured these were exactly what I was looking for.

Their customer service and dealing with my many questions was above and beyond what I expected from a bigger company. They are even sending us a free light gift for our next tank. Didn't ask for it at all, they simply were that nice and going above and beyond for a random customer.

The Bluetooth app, and the individual controls for the lights is amazing. We've got a nice sunrise/sunset feature, which my wife and I both wanted. Very impressed with this system! I'll be sure to report back.

Added a jedi mind trick Monti, gsp, and zoas today from our 20g.

Sunrise begins at 9 am... 15% blue, 10% white, 10% green

Daylight is 75% blue, 40% white

Sunset is 25% blue, 10% white, 10% red

Moonlight for 3 hours is 10% blue only.

Hope this is a decent lighting schedule. Any thoughts?

Just thought I would give you guys a heads up on these lights!

ever try reading the pars on these orbits?
you growing SPS?
Don't have a par meter. And yes sps are growing. This is our first big Salt tank I should add. Everything we've thrown at them has grown now except for xenia, which I believe is our water issue and not the lights
